Macbeth for schools
(14 -18 yrs)
Performance and workshop presented by
Reckless Shakespeare Company
TO BOOK ALL YEAR ROUND
Two vagabond clowns attempt to retell Shakespeare’s supernatural thriller The Tragedy of Macbeth using nothing but homemade and household items pulled from a laundry basket. Our clowns combine Shakespeare’s original dialogue with contemporary commentary which makes for an accessible and engaging experience for nearly all English language levels. Macbeth for Schools is an agile and mobile production that can adapt to almost any performance space. Whether you have a 300-seat auditorium or an intimate black-box space, Macbeth for Schools’ creative and stimulating staging will work in most school settings.
This specially developed performance is brought to us by Alex Baggett with the participation of actor colleague, Joanna Lucas. Using their experience on the stage, as well as in the classroom, this performance was masterfully created for school audiences. To deepen and enhance student learning it can be accompanied by a workshop selection, in preparation of the performance, or as a follow up.
