Het Zwarte Schaap International Festival
A spoken word festival for all black sheep in this world
Curated by Daniëlle Zawadi, winner of the 2020 Unwanted Words BIPOC Voice Award as part of the 1st Queer & Feminist Awards. The spoken word platform Het Zwarte Schaap won the Audience Award 2020 of the Haagse C.
Het Zwarte Schaap (The Black Sheep) offers a platform to stories that are unheard and creates a safe environment for all who like to share their story – especially to those who feel like a black sheep. Founder Daniëlle Zawadi has curated a two day event of poetry and spoken word performances spoken in English; Het Zwarte Schaap International Festival. During this festival, (semi) professional poets will be taking the stage to create a unique festival full of inspiration and thought provoking ideas, transformed into spoken word performances.
On Saturday, we will air FOCUS, a series of word-videos of rap, poetry and many more forms of word art, including live performances of the portrayed artists. Watch the trailer below!
On Sunday, you will be amazed by The Hague’s yet undiscovered talent during the Open Call. Scroll down for the line-up. Read more about each performer on our Facebook or Instagram.
During the Open Call on Sunday, a Dutch Sign Language interpreter will be present the entire programme.
