Theatre of Wrong Decisions
On-going Video Installation 19 – 22 April Paradijs Staircase
Hague based art platform Theatre of Wrong Decisions reacts to current burning issues in four categories: Human Rights, Climate Change, War and Politics. It can be briefly described as a fusion of visual arts and theatre. It manifests itself in short video productions critically responding to highly controversial and sensitive issues in today’s world.
The video clips are closely linked to similar situations in Shakespeare’s plays. By using Shakespearean quotes the participants of Theatre of Wrong Decisions are putting current issues of moral concern into a universal perspective. The videos are made in collaboration with the Clingendael Institute and Sipri Stockholm.
Artistic Team Theatre of Wrong Decisions: Ruud Hisgen literator, Eric de Vries photographer/filmer, Maaike Engels Filmer, Randa Nassar Filmer, Menno Doornbos Art Consultant and Ingrid Rollema visual artist and director.

THE HAGUE SHAKESPEARE FESTIVAL
In November 2013 the first ever The Hague Shakespeare Festival took place in the Koninklijke Schouwburg with major names like Tina Packer, The Royal Shakespeare Company, Het Vijfde Bedrijf and others. A programme full of performances and discussions over a period of 10 days.
THE HAGUE SHAKESPEARE FRINGES
The Hague Shakespeare Festival has developed Shakespeare Fringe weekends with specific Shakespeare themes. International companies came together to exchange experiences, to learn and share their work based on Shakespeare. The first was in November 2014 in Zaal 3 of Theater aan het Spui and involved young theatre makers from the United States, Israel, the Netherlands and Great Britain. The Shakespeare for Kids & Teens was the second one in April 2015.
In April 2016 the theme was Shakespeare and just War (to commemorate the 400th anniversary of Shakespeare’s death) in Theater aan het Spui and in the Koninklijke Schouwburg. Highlight was the Keynote speech was delivered by Judge Theodor Meron in close co-operations with Dutch actors Gijs Scholten van Aschat and Pierre Bokma. A panel of Shakespeare and international law experts including Tina Packer and Sir Christopher Greenwood (ICJ) responded to the speech before the audience joined in the debate.
