" Out beyond ideas of wrongdoing and rightdoing, there is a field. I'll meet you there." ~ Rumi
Come in, sit down, and tell us: What do you want... right now? This isn't a café. It isn't a restaurant. It's an evening of poetry, story, and song that will be created out of our wishes and dreams. What does any of us want? World peace? Maybe more money? To know why we're here? A little love in this crazy world? Perhaps, just a laugh and a glass of wine?
Sometimes poets can see what we can't and can provide the answers to our deepest questions. The Sufi masters Rumi (1207-1273) and Hafiz (1320-1390) were two such visionaries. Rumi said that his words would come back to the world when it was ready. Now is that time.
Over three intimate evenings, singer Nicole Jordan and storyteller Ashley Ramsden will work together, improvising and interacting, using the insightful words of Rumi and Hafiz to answer your big questions. On these evenings you will hear a weave of the poets’ wisdom, you will be shown the ways of love they found, and you will share in the scent of the light they followed.
