INFORMATION

Tusk Theatre Company (www.tusktheatre.com) presents this innovative cross-over production with music, video and dance. A very physical play about love, hate, money, food, opportunism, co-dependence and death: in short, life. Man itself is central to this piece, man who imprisons himself, frees himself and then chooses to restrict himself again…… It will make you cry out with laughter and pain, a performance to be remembered….

cast TUSK

Edgar and his wife Alice have been living in a tower on a nearly deserted island for about twenty-five years, when Alice’s cousin Kurt comes to pay the couple a visit. Their daily game of insulting and criticizing each other takes a temporary break, but slowly the couple pick up the accusing and fighting tones again, as if Kurt was supposed to be there as their personal audience and judge. Edgar, full of himself and of his career, gives Kurt unsolicited advice, while Alice is trying to rekindle the flame that once burnt between herself and Kurt. When Edgar starts to doubt Kurt’s reasons for taking up a job on ‘his’ island, a game is set in motion that will have big repercussions for everyone involved.

TUSK is very proud to introduce to you David Krügel, former dancer of the Nederlands Dans Theater, in the role of Edgar.
The part of Kurt, Alice’s cousin, will be played by Erik Jan van den Broek who he has trained and worked in Britain, and it’s a joy to have him on board.
Edgar’s wife, Alice, will be played by actress and director Ellis van Maarseveen, who was so impressive as Clara Petacci in Summit Conference. Her career boasts extensive work in Britain and in The Netherlands.
Music is important and we are extremely happy to work together with a very talented, young Kroatian composer, Ivana Kis, who is responsible for all the beautiful music you will hear during the performance.
The light design and technique is in the capable hands of Marieke Visser, with whom we worked in Summit Conference.
