INFORMATION

As the story goes………. "Not floktails, silly! Folktales!" "So what! And what's folktales then?" The glove-puppet puppies Frits and Freddy are full of high jinks and squabbles; it's hard for them to settle down to hear stories, but they do love them. The shortest, warmest, happiest stories, rhymes, and songs are the ones they choose to hear. The candle is lit, the puppies are sitting still, and they've promised to behave. The story can begin!

BIOGRAPHY

Kathleen is storyteller and textile craftswoman. She lives and works in the Netherlands, with regular forays abroad. She works in English and in Dutch, and fits each performance or workshop to the requirements of the season and the client, as any good dressmaker would! She is currently exploring shadow theatre as a means of bringing stories to multilingual audiences.

She offers workshops for storytellers and story lovers in which the story is brought to a textile craft form – papermaking, feltmaking, collage – as a way to access the images and messages present.

Kathleen studied first in the Netherlands with Margreet van der Heide, and later at the School of Storytelling at Emerson College, Forest Row, England, where she is an occasional guest tutor.
